Given my recent post about my friend Joseph’s exploration of John Nevin’s Mercersburg movement, I felt it only right to note his more recent post. Having discovered Nevin’s less-than-close relationship to Calvinism, Joseph continues on his quest.
My friend Joseph posted recently about finding a theological home with John Nevin and the Mercersburg “movement.” I confess I knew nothing about it before his post, but it’s very interesting, particularly in light of the recent controversies in the Reformed alphabet churches (OPC, RPC, PCA, and so on)—Federal Vision, New Perspectives, N.T. Wright, etc. Here’s my comment on his post.
I confess, I was interested in seeing the Golden Compass movie. I’ve read the series, called His Dark Materials, and I’ve posted about its antiChristian content. I wanted to see (and still wouldn’t mind seeing on video or PPV) how the story translates to screen.
