H/t to Cameron Lawrence for linking to a fascinating article about American songwriter Will Oldham.
The article’s a couple years old, but worth reading for a couple reasons. One, Oldham’s music. His “fan list” includes Johnny Cash (who recorded an Oldham tune) and Nick Cave. Two, he thumbs his nose at celebrity and the fan machine so profoundly and effectively, as the article evidences. It’s good stuff.
